First Aid Training Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I have to complete any pre-learning prior to my course?
A. Yes, all courses have pre-learning that students are required to complete before attending. The pre-learning is delivered online and is self paced.

2. What is the minimum age to enrol in a first aid course?
A. Generally speaking, there is no minimum age, but all participants must have the language literacy skills required to pass the course work. If you are under 18, please contact us to obtain a consent form to the course and give it to the trainer on the day of your training.

3. Can you deliver training at my workplace?
A. Yes, all of our training equipment is portable and we often attend workplaces and sporting clubs to deliver first aid training onsite. Please contact us with the details of your booking.

4. What is the maximum size group you can teach?
A. We can deliver first aid training for very large groups. If your group is larger than 20 students, we will assign multiple trainers and we will need a large training space or multiple rooms.

5. I need a Provide First Aid certificate and a CPR certificate, how many courses do I need to book in for?
A. You need to book into a ‘HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid’ course only as this includes a free CPR competency valid for 12 months.

6. When do I need to renew my certificate?

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 12 months 45 min contact time + 3 h self-paced learning
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (including HLTAID009 ) 3 years (HLTAID009 12 months) 120 min contact time + 6 hours self-paced learning
HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting 3 years 60 min contact time + 6-8 hours self-paced learning
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid (including HLTAID015) 3 years  (HLTAID015 12 months 6 hours contact time + 10 hours self- paced learning
HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy. 12 months 3.5 hours contact time + 3 hours self- paced learning

We are seeking First Responders to work as part of our medical team alongside Registered Paramedics, Registered Nurses and Doctors.
First Responders require the following qualifications – we can assist candidates to find training opportunities if required:

  • PUAEME005 – Provide pain management
First Responders require the following experience:
  • Experience in providing patient care, OR
