Place of Public Entertainment (POPE) Safety Officers in Melbourne and Victoria

Part 14 of the Building Regulations 2018 specifies the conditions for an Occupancy Permit for a Place of Public Entertainment (POPE), which may include the engagement and responsibilities of Public Safety Officers to be in attendance at a POPE to ensure the safety of the site. The responsibilities of the Public Safety Officers include verification of essential safety measures, ensuring compliance with any conditions that may be included in your POPE permit as issued by the building authority.

1300MEDICS has a number of experienced Public Safety Officers available for placement on event sites located in Melbourne and Victoria. Our Public Safety Officers have the minimum certification of Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer 22591VIC (or 22310VIC Course in Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer) issued by the Fire Rescue Victoria (FES) as the Registered Training Organisation.

The course in Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake the role of a safety officer for a place of public entertainment as specified by Part 14 of the Building Regulations 2018. It should be noted that the role of safety officer for a place of public entertainment does not fulfil the duties of a Crowd Controller/Security Officer.

22591VIC Course in Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer supersedes and is equivalent to 22310VIC Course in Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer.

1300MEDICS Public Safety Officers will complete detailed checklists and audits around the site and report issues to site management for rectification.
